Demand For Immediate Issuance Of Regulations With The Education Act

Jan 18, Kathmandu- State Committee No. 1 of the Progressive Nepal National Teachers Association has demanded immediate issuance of regulations along with the Education Act.

The committee had handed over a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Province No. 1 Rajendra Kumar Rai with various demands. A team comprising state president Kamal Prasad Timsina, central vice president, and state in-charge Hikmat Bahadur Basnet submitted a 13-point memorandum.

The memorandum called for ensuring immunization of school children and creating an environment conducive to running the school by adopting health standards. In order to solve the problem of child development teachers and school staff working at the minimum wage in the state, it has been demanded to maintain stability in the school by maintaining vacancies.

It has also been demanded that the relief teachers above the age limit should participate in the examination of the Education Service Commission. In the memorandum, it is demanded that the salary of teachers should be 10 percent more than that of the employees and 20 percent of the total budget of Province 1 should be spent in the education sector to make the education service dignified.
