NEA's Strictness In SIM And Rem Card Distribution

Apr 7, Kathmandu-  Nepal Telecom Authority (NTAA) has directed the service providers to tighten the sale and distribution of SIM cards and Rem cards for mobile services.

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has issued a notice on Thursday saying that the service provider company has not filled out the form to be filled while distributing the SIM card and the SIM card has been sold without verifying the documents.

It has come to our notice that the SIM card-remcard sales are being distributed by the service providers without properly filling the form (KYC) required by the customer and verifying the documents as per the rules.  The mobile service providers are requested to distribute the SIM card-remcard sale only by forcing the customer to fill the form properly and verify the details as per the instructions and rules given by NEA, ”said a statement issued by NEA.

NEA has also requested the customers to purchase SIM card-Remcard only on the basis of their actual details. NEA has stated that action will be taken according to the prevailing law if it is found that the purchase and sale of SIM cards and Remcard have not been done as per the instructions.
