Millions Of User Data Shared For Advertisements

May 17, Kathmandu- A study has shown that millions of Internet users' data are being shared for advertising. According to the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL), user data has been shared an average of 376 times a day.

Although the number is 376 in the case of European users, it is said to have happened 747 times in the case of the US user. Various companies have been collecting user data and making such data available to advertisers. It is stated that such data is shared 373 times daily.

Along with the study, the ICCL is also preparing to file a lawsuit against the digital ad agency. The organization is going to file a case in the Data Protection Commission saying that no one has paid attention to this kind of data leak so far.

According to the organization, the data is being sold with the brokerage companies of the ad agency. They have been bidding on the basis of that data.

Such data sharing includes information about the user's online activities and their online status.
