Ballot Papers Are Much Prioritized Than Textbooks: Education Secretary Koirala

May 19, Kathmandu- Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Yadav Prasad Koirala has said that the textbooks could not be printed as the printing of ballot papers was given priority.

He said that the textbooks had already reached Karnali about six months ago and in other places, the textbooks would reach the hands of the students on May 19. Due to the government's failure to print and distribute textbooks on time, students from class 1 to secondary level have not been able to get textbooks even at the beginning of the academic session.

Especially the textbooks of classes 4, 7, and 9 have been newly implemented. But due to the inability to print and distribute textbooks on time, teachers and students are confused about how to move the curriculum forward.

Teachers are of the view that the state has neglected education as textbooks have not reached the schools even in the first week of Jestha.
