May 19, Kathmandu- Google is preparing to file a lawsuit after the Russian government blocked the company's bank accounts. According to the international, the company has filed a lawsuit alleging that it had difficulty operating Google's office in Russia after the government blocked a bank account.
"It has become difficult to run an office in the country since the Russian authorities blocked the bank account. We have been unable to pay our employees, pay suppliers and vendors and meet other financial obligations", said a Google spokesperson.
In this case, Google has issued a public notice regarding the filing of a 'bankruptcy' case. The company also said it will continue to provide services to Russia.
"People in Russia rely on our services for quality information, despite the difficulties, we will continue to provide services such as Google Search, YouTube, Gmail, Maps, Android, and Play Store for free", the company said in a statement
Earlier, in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Google had restricted access to Russian state media, including recommendations. Therefore, it is estimated that the Russian government may have blocked Google's bank account at this time.
Google has said it will continue to provide its services in the event of a Russian office shutdown.
