May 20, Kathmandu- Nepal is in the 3rd position in the 2023 AFC U-17 Asia Cup selection.
According to the selection of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) draw on Friday, Nepal is in Port 3. In Port 3, Nepal is joined by Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Palestine, Chinese Taipei, Myanmar, Qatar, Timor-Leste, and Singapore.
The draw for the tournament in Bahrain will be held on May 26 in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
Forty-four Asian nations are participating in the selection. The selection will be held in 10 countries including Australia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
The AFC also unveiled the game schedule for the U-20 Men's SAFF Championship to be held in India on Thursday.
According to the public schedule, Nepal will face Maldives in the inaugural match on July 25.
Similarly, Nepal will face Sri Lanka in the second match on July 27. Nepal will compete with India on July 30 and Bangladesh on August 2.
The final game of the competition will be held on August 5. All the matches of the single round-robin competition will be played at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
The top two teams will play in the final. The AFC is planning to host the U-17 and U-20 Asia Cups in place of the previous U-16 and U-19.
