May 22, Kathmandu- The counting of Kathmandu Metropolitan City votes is underway. The final results of 14 wards have been made public so far in the metropolis which has 32 wards.

So far, the final results of wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32 have been made public. The counting of votes is underway in 8 wards while the counting of votes in the remaining 10 wards has not started yet. There are 9, 10, 11, 12, 23, 24, 25, and 26 wards where votes are being counted.

Independent candidate Balen Shah has the lead in the mayoral election as per the results so far. When he came forward with 40,003 votes, Nepali Congress candidate Shirjana Singh got 22,749 votes from the alliance. With 22,095 votes, CPN-UML candidate Keshav is in the third position.
