May 22, Kathmandu- Independent candidate Balendra (Balen) Shah has taken the lead with a margin of 17,424 votes for the post of Mayor in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
As per the latest vote counting results, Shah has received 41,279 votes. His nearest rival Shirjana Shrestha of the Nepali Congress has received 23,855 votes. Keshav Sthapit of the Nepali Congress is in the third position yet with 230,24 votes.
