Health Workers Of Football Player Maradona Will Be Prosecuted

Jun 23, Kathmandu- Eight health workers have been charged in connection with negligence in the treatment of Argentine soccer player Diego Maradona. Maradona died in November 2020 at the age of 60 from a heart attack.

The two daughters expressed interest in their father's treatment after the brain surgery. Maradona, who had previously undergone brain surgery, was in good health. But a few days after his death, Argentine prosecutors began investigating the doctors and nurses involved in the treatment.

A judge ordered the case to be prosecuted after the investigation committee found weaknesses and irregularities in the treatment. Maradona's personal physician, a psychiatrist, two other doctors, and two nurses are among those facing charges. However, all the accused have stated that they are not responsible for the death of Maradona.

If convicted, they could face between eight and 25 years in prison. A hearing on the case has not yet been scheduled. Diego Maradona is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time. He was the captain of the national team when Argentina lifted the World Cup in 1986.
