Aug 7, Kathamndu: Communication and Information Technology Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that the engineering sector should be made creative, professional, and more useful.
Minister Karki said that the engineering sector will play an important role in building a prosperous Nepal in the theme release program for the technical exhibition-fair to be held in January, organized by Locus, Pulchok Campus today.
He said, "The engineering sector has a very big role in transforming the society so that your attention can be focused on it, I believe that the steps you take can move our society forward." Minister Karki expressed his commitment that the government will always be ready to help in the engineering sector when necessary.
He said that students studying engineering should make people's lives easier through creative innovation, keeping in mind the problems and needs of Nepali society and the country. Minister Karki emphasized that everyone should pay attention to how the creative work in the field of engineering can be commercialized and marketed.
Locus which is Techni Mahotsav is an academic institution led by the graduate students of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, IOI, Pulchok Campus. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's information, technology, and communication expert E. Dipesh Bista expressed his belief that the engineering sector will contribute significantly to the completion of the Digital Nepal Framework plan put forward by the government.
President Tapendra Pandey informed that Locus has become Nepal's most science and technology festival for students. He said that since the inception of Locus, which was established in 2003, it has been an open platform for young and enthusiastic students from schools, colleges, and universities across Nepal to showcase their extraordinary skills in the field of technology. It has been conducting a national technical festival annually.
