Aug 8, Kathmandu: Chitwan Medical College(CMC) has built a cancer hospital with an investment of two billion. The CMC Cancer Institute has been prepared to be put into operation before the upcoming Dashain.
The medical college has said that it is going to start a cancer hospital as its sister institution. Work is being done rapidly to provide radiation services before Dashain. Hospital Director Dr. Dayaram Lamsal informed that state-of-the-art equipment has been installed in the institute.
He said that more modern equipment has been installed here than those installed in the big hospitals in Delhi, India. He claims that the hospital has spent 1 billion 27 million only on the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment. It is said that more than two billion will be spent on other equipment and physical infrastructure.
It is said that some expenses have been reduced because there is a medical college for cancer and other treatments. In this institute, radiation, brachytherapy, spect city scan, bone marrow transplant, blood cancer treatment, child cancer treatment, and all types of cancer treatment and transplantation are done said by Lamsal
