Sept 27, Kathmandu- The death toll reached 39 when a boat carrying Hindu pilgrims capsized in Bangladesh.

According to the Bangladesh Police, some people are still missing from the accident.

The boat, full of pilgrims, sank suddenly in the middle of the Korotoa river near the town of Boda. Police said firefighters and divers are searching for more bodies.

According to the information received, there were 100 passengers on the boat. The preliminary estimate of the police is that the boat accident happened due to more passengers than capacity. The police said that further investigation is being conducted into the accident.
