Singer Sushmita Rai Passed Away Due To Dengue Infection

Sept 29, Kathmandu- Sushmita Rai, a budding singer from Khotang, passed away due to dengue infection.

Singer Rai, who was admitted to Kathmandu's Patan Hospital after contracting dengue, died on Wednesday during treatment. Rai, a singer from Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-5 Durchim, had an infection in her kidneys, liver, and lungs.

Sushmita passed away a few hours after asking for prayers of healing through a live video. After her death, a nine-month-old baby has been lost. Rai, a singer who lost her sight within 6 years of birth, reached Kathmandu from Khotang and was struggling to make a future in the music field.

Rai, a successful singer who won the hearts of the audience in a short time, had sung with Rajesh Payal Rai and others. Sushmita also won the heart of popular singer Anju Panta.
