Match Between Germany And Costa Rica In The World Cup Will Be Officiated By A Female Referee

Nov 30, Kathmandu- The 44th out of 64 matches of FIFA World Cup 2022 is going to be historic. Four women will officiate the match between Germany and Costa Rica at the Al Bayt Stadium in Doha.

French referee Stephanie Frappart will make her debut as a female referee in the Men's World Cup. Stephanie Frapart will be the main referee. Brazilian Nuja and Mexico's Karen Diaz Medina will be fielded as assistant referees.

Kathryn Nesbitt from America will take over the responsibility of offsite specialist in the team of video experts. There will be one male referee in the fourth official.

Frappart, who played the role of referee in the Men's World Cup, has worked as the fourth official in the Mexico and Poland matches under Group C.

The 38-year-old was an official in the final of the UEFA Super Cup in France in 2019. She played in the Champions League in 2020.

She won the World's Best Female Referee Award in 2019. Frappart said the presence of female FIFA referees in the men's World Cup sends a strong message.
