Former Interior Minister Of Pakistan Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad Arrested

Feb 02, Kathmandu- Pakistan's former interior minister and Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad was arrested by the Islamabad police on Thursday morning.

He was arrested on the basis of the statements made by Ahmed against former President Asif Ali Zardari. Ahmed alleged that Zardar had hatched a conspiracy to assassinate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief, Imran Khan.

Ahmed was arrested from his house in Islamabad, his nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafique said.

Ahmed was arrested on the basis of a police complaint filed by Raza Inayat ur Rehman, the vice president of Zardari's party Pakistan Peoples Party.

Imran Khan himself also accused Zardari of being involved in the conspiracy to kill him in a televised address on January 27. He claimed that a terrorist group has been deployed for this under Plan C. However, he did not give any evidence on this matter.
