Shanti Samaj demands the resignation of the Home Minister: Mahara was given immunity to avoid the co-operative case

Mar 25, Kathmandu- The Human Rights and Peace Society has demanded the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

As the facts of Lamichhane's involvement in the cooperative scam case are being made public, Shanti Samaj has expressed the view that it would be appropriate for him to pave the way himself. In a statement issued today by the president of the society, Ram Krishna Baral, it is said, "The facts of the involvement of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the much-publicized co-operative scam case have been made public, and the Shanti Samaj urges an early, fair and effective investigation." Morally, Rabi Lamichhane himself should pave the way.

Shanti Samaj has claimed that Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane gave immunity to the Maoist leader involved in the gold scandal to get immunity from the cooperative case.

Similarly, Shanti Samaj has mentioned in the statement that the intention of the leadership of Nepali Congress is inspired by the bargaining strategy that there should be no investigation on their family members. Chairman Baral said in the statement, "The peace society condemns the disgusting politics of bargaining that is growing to give immunity to the main culprits of various scams against good governance and morality."
