Food Aid Distribution To Six Million Afghans

Mar 25, Kathmandu- In February, six million people in Afghanistan received food aid, according to the Afghan news agency Khama Press, citing the World Food Program (WFP).

WFP provided cash and food aid to more than six million people in Afghanistan on Saturday.

According to the press release, this aid has been provided to meet the need of providing food and nutrition to Afghani children.

According to the news, food aid has been provided in Afghanistan with the financial support of some private donors and supporting countries.

The aid was provided in collaboration with UNWFP after the government and non-government sources informed that the demand for food aid has increased due to the economic challenges and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

Recently, Afghan refugees are returning home in large numbers from Pakistan amid a serious humanitarian crisis.

According to Khama Press, the worsening humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan along with the ongoing conflict and economic instability in the country has prompted many refugees to return home despite the uncertain situation.

As refugees return home, they face enormous challenges, with limited access to basic needs such as food, shelter and health care.

Refugees are calling on the international community to provide immediate assistance to ensure the safety and well-being of Afghan refugees amid the ongoing crisis in their homeland and support resettlement and integration efforts.
