Ministry Of Education To Tighten Private School Fees

Mar 25, Kathmandu- The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has issued various instructions to ensure free education in public schools and fee determination and scholarships in private investment (institutional) schools.

The Ministry has instructed the local level to strictly implement the legal arrangements to be implemented about free education, especially by private and institutional schools. The ministry has also written a letter to all the local levels asking them to stop the arbitrary collection of fees under different names. Minister of Education, Science and Technology Sumana Shrestha has issued a circular according to the ministerial level. According to the Ministry of Local Government Administration Act, the local level must work in the management of free education, student incentives and scholarships, according to the laws approved by the local level (standards or guidelines or procedures or others), free education in public schools and fee determination and distribution of scholarships in private investment schools. It is said to implement the related provisions effectively. The Ministry of Local Government Management Act states that the local level must work in the management of free education, student incentives and scholarships, and accordingly, free education in public schools and fee determination in private investment schools based on the laws approved by the local level (standards or guidelines or procedures or others) and it is said to effectively implement the system related to the distribution of scholarships.
