Mar 26, Kathmandu- On behalf of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Secretariat of the Nepal National Commission has invited applications from UNESCO Paris for the 'UNESCO Prize for Girls and Women' for the year 2024.

The amount of the award requested to be recommended to the Government of Nepal is 50 thousand US dollars (about Rs. 66 lakh). According to the Secretariat, individuals or organizations who have done significant work in the field of women and children's education in Nepal can apply for the award on the basis of the prescribed criteria until the 3rd of Baisakh.

It is said that the commission's secretariat will select and recommend the applications and the final selection will be made by the world-class judging panel of UNESCO.
