Students should leave the university with competence: Prime Minister Dahal

Apr 21, Kathmandu- Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that scientific and technological manpower is needed to transform the country's economy rapidly. Addressing the fourth convocation ceremony of Sudurpaschim University, the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University Dahal said that the country needs manpower suited to the era.

Emphasizing that university education should be not only formal and theoretical but also practical, useful and helpful for social transformation, Prime Minister Dahal said that universities should focus on producing manpower who can fulfill their duties by being responsible to the nation and the people.

"The youth are the future of the nation. Therefore, when they leave the university, they should be characterful and disciplined and able to perform their duties by being responsible to the nation and the people," Prime Minister Dahal said. "Scientific manpower is needed to make the country's democratic system stronger and stronger and to rapidly transform the economy. They should be creative and appropriate to the era.'

According to Prime Minister Dahal, it is necessary for the university to make timely reforms in the educational and managerial fields in order to produce human resources that can compete in the world educational market.

Mentioning that the university has been playing an important role in expanding access to higher education for the citizens of Far West Province, he said that the university has helped to meet the need of skilled manpower in the country by producing quality manpower in various fields.
