Husband Arrested For Killing His Wife After 6 Months

Apr 22, Kathmandu- A husband and brother-in-law have been arrested for murdering his wife in Dhanusha.

Dhanusha police have arrested both of them who were absconding after killing their wife seven months ago.

Those arrested are 55-year-old Sudeep Thakur and 60-year-old Udit Thakur of Sahidnagar Municipality-7 Nemuwatol in Dhanusha. Both of them are accused of killing 45-year-old Rekhadevi Thakur.

Spokesman of the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Awale informed that Sudeep Rekhadevi's husband and Udit's brother-in-law were arrested.

Last year on Kartik 10, Rekha Devi had a dispute with her husband Sudeep. Rekha Devi died on the spot after her husband hit her on the head with an axe.

The day after the incident, Sudeep buried Rekhadevi's body in a pit in his own house.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Awale said that he informed his brother Udit about the incident during the investigation.

"After the incident, both brothers have gone to work in India," he said.

Both of them returned home on Kartik 30 last year. It has been revealed that the brothers took out the body from the pit, put it in a sack and threw it in a ditch near Sahid Nagar-7 Nemuwatol.

Spokesman Awale said that the son informed the police about his mother's disappearance long after the murder.

He said that it was revealed that Rekha Devi was murdered during the investigation.

According to the spokesman Awale, the ax and spade used in the murder have been recovered from the scene.

The police said that the body parts were also found. The police are investigating the incident further.
