Rashtriya Janamorcha Withdrew Its Support To Gandaki  Province Government

April 14, Kathmandu-  Rashtriya Janamorcha has withdrawn its support to the Gandaki province government. According to Himalal Puri, central secretary of the Janamorcha, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli withdrew his support to the government as he had acted against the constitution and Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung had sided with Oli.

The Gandaki state government is in the minority after the Janamorcha with three MPs withdrew its support. Puri said they would withdraw their support to the government and would support anyone who filed a no-confidence motion against the chief minister. He also said that they would join an alliance other than the UML led by KP Oli.

The 60-member Gandaki Pradesh Sabha has 28 members from UML, 15 from Congress, 12 from Maoists, three from Rashtriya Janamorcha, and two from Janata Samajwadi Party. Chief Minister Gurung needs 31 members to keep the government afloat. Chief Minister Gurung now needs the support of three MPs to retain his post.

The possibility of a change of government in Gandaki has increased as the Congress, Maoists, and People Socialist Party have already taken an initiative to form a government in Gandaki and the Jana Morcha will also support the alliance against Oli.
