Procedure Of The Cable Car From Dhunche To Gosainkund Will Come Soon: Minister Ale

April 14, Kathmandu- Minister for Forest and Environment Prem Bahadur Ale has said that the procedure of the cable car to reach the religious shrine Gosainkunda will come soon.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 26th Wildlife Week and the first Village Municipality Volleyball and Football Cup held in Dhunche on Wednesday, Minister Ale claimed that the procedure would be passed within the next 10 days.

The Gosaikunda village municipality has started the process of constructing a cable car from the district headquarters Dhunche to Gosainkunda. The area proposed to build the cable car falls within the park. The cable car construction process has not progressed as the procedure has not been passed.

Gosainkund is at an altitude of 4,380 meters above sea level. The cable car distance to be constructed from the district headquarters Dhunche to Gosainkunda will be about 6.5 km long. It is proposed to have two terminals and 28 towers in the distance, said Gosainkunda Village Chairman Kaisangnurpu Tamang. He said that the feasibility report for the construction of the Dhunche-Gosainkunda cable car has been prepared.

The village municipality has a plan to build a Dhunche-Gosainkunda cable car in a public-private partnership. Preliminary studies have shown that it will cost around Rs 1.75 billion to build.
