High Court Orders To Operate Crusher Linked To Dilip's Murder

April 14, Kathmandu-  The Janakpur High Court has ordered to operate the crusher of environmental engineer Dilip Mahato without taking the murder case to the side. The High Court on Tuesday ordered to operate the Churiyamai Sand Processing Industry in Mithila Municipality-5 of Dhanusha.

Dilip Mahato alias Omprakash (24  year -old)) a local environmental engineer was brutally killed in the same crusher on 10 January 2020. Three people, including Bipin Mahato, the main accused in Dilip's murder, are currently in custody for trial, while four others have been released on bail.

Locals along with their families have been shocked after the High Court ordered to operate the crusher without committing any serious crime. A joint bench of Janakpur High Court judges Lekhnath Ghimire and Ramesh Dhakal has ordered not to obstruct the operation of the crusher.

The order was issued by the High Court while hearing a writ petition filed by Binod Kumar Mahato, brother of Vipin, the main accused in Dilip's murder.

The crusher is closed after Dilip was killed. Despite several attempts to operate it, Dilip's family was adamant that the crusher would not be allowed to operate until strict action was taken against the culprits and justice was served.

Last time, accused Bipin's brother Binod had filed a writ petition in the high court against Dilip's father Ramjivan Mahato.

The court issued an interim order in the name of the opposition not to obstruct or interfere in the operation of the crusher as it was in accordance with the law and complied with the standards.

Environmental engineer Dilip was hit in the abdomen by a lever and killed by a tipper while trying to stop illegal excavations in another river near his house.

Dilip's family is worried after the court-ordered to operate the crusher. Dilip's sister Laxmi Mahato has complained that more injustice has been done to her brother and family.

"My brother has not yet received justice. No action has been taken against the culprits. "But how can the high court issue such an order to operate the crusher in which my brother was brutally murdered?" She said. The morale of the criminal increases even more. It was difficult for us to survive. '
