Nov 28, Kathmandu- Nepal Teachers Federation has sent a 15-member negotiating team including President Kamala Tuladhar, General Secretary Laxmi Kishore Subedi, and Co-President Purna Prasad Dawadi to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for the talks.
Despite a letter from the ministry to send a nine-member negotiating team to solve the teachers' problems through talks led by the education minister, the federation has sent a list of 15-member big teams.
According to the federation, the negotiating team includes officials from the teachers' professional association. According to the federation, the negotiating team includes Mohan Raj Joshi, treasurer of the Nepal Teachers Federation, Tilak Kunwar, Hem Chandra Mahato, Tika Devi Rai, and Lal Babu Yadav, vice presidents of the federation.
Similarly, Tika Devi Rai, President of Nepal National Teachers Association, Laxman Sharma, President of Unified All Nepal Teachers Association, Shankar Adhikari, President of All Nepal Teachers Association, Ghanshyam Pathak, President of All Nepal Teachers Association, Sanubhai Karki, President of Nepal School Staff Council, Dola Raj Sharma, Hom Kumar Thapa, President of Institutional School Teachers Union, and Rajendra Raj Poudel, President of Nepal Teachers Association.
The federation has already sent the list to the ministry and expects to reach a conclusion by mid-November. According to Tuladhar, the talks were held with a warning from the government to ignore the talks, delay them as in the past and show restraint if Taltu behaves.
The federation had been agitating in various stages since last April, including a 34-point demand. In a press release issued on November 2, it was announced that a decisive movement centered in Kathmandu would be launched from November 3 under the fifth phase of the movement. However, the agitation was postponed after the ministry called for talks.
