Dec 13, Kathmandu- In the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, three candidates have cast their votes.
Sher Bahadur Deuba, who has become a candidate for the post of chairman, has already cast his vote. Similarly, presidential candidates Prakash Man Singh and Shekhar Koirala have also cast their votes.
In today's election, Deuba has cast his vote from the Far West booth, Singh from Bagmati, and Koirala from the booth of the center.
Voting for 134 posts will be held today. There are 29 types of ballot papers in the election and all the ballot papers have to be cast in separate ballot boxes. According to the election committee, the counting of votes for the post of chairperson will start as soon as voting for all the posts is over.
According to the NC constitution, a candidate for the post of president has to get 51 percent votes to win.
If a candidate fails to get 51 percent of the votes cast, the two candidates who get the highest number of votes will compete again.
