Dec 29, Kathmandu - The Department of Transport Management has started printing driver’s licenses (smart license). Printing was stopped for the past year due to a lack of cards. Printing has started after 1.4 million copies of the card were brought from France.
According to the department, the printing of licenses has been started on Tuesday in the presence of the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renukumari Yadav.
About seven lakh copies of the license are yet to be printed. The department has stated that it will print 7,000 to 10,000 copies of the card daily in three shifts. An arrangement has been made to issue the license within a month. The department is opening new applications.
