Aha Rara Gold Cup: Army and Three Star Will Clash Today

Jan 25, Kathmandu- A match will be played between Tribhuvan Army Football Club and Three Star Club today under the 12th Aha Rara Gold Cup Football in Pokhara. Both the teams are looking for victory in the last quarter-final of the ongoing competition. Machhindra will play against APF on Wednesday for the final entry.

Earlier in the day, Machhindra entered the semifinals with a 4-1 victory over the previous winner Sankata Club. In the third quarterfinal, Mahindra defeated Sankata 4-1 and secured a place in the last four.

Mesuke Olumou scored two goals and Utsav Rai and Abhishek Gurung scored one goal each in Machhindra's victory. Sankata's Ganesh Hamal returned a goal. Earlier, APF had defeated American team Bhutanese Youth Sports Club (BYSC) 3-1 in the first quarterfinal last Saturday.

On Sunday, Manang Marsyangdi Club defeated Nepal Police Club and made it to the last four. Ten teams including eight from the A division have participated in the competition.

The winner of the Aha Gold Cup will get Rs. 1 million and 1 thousand including the title and the second-place team will get Rs. The competition is estimated to cost Rs 1,648,500.
