Mar 31, Kathmandu- Private and Residential Schools Organization Nepal (PABSON) has demanded to give full autonomy for private schools.
PABSON's newly elected committee held a press conference in Kathmandu today and demanded that the government give full autonomy to the operation of private schools apart from national examinations, curriculum, and monitoring. PABSON demands that students be allowed to make their own decisions on student fees, attire, transportation, laboratory, teaching style, and the duration of school operations.
Meanwhile, PABSON Chairman DK Dhungana said that autonomy was demanded as Nepali students could not get international standard education while operating private schools within the criteria and limits set by the government. The general convention of PABSON held on March 23 and 24 had selected an 89-member working committee including a chairman and 25 vice-chairmen.
