Khumaltar Youth Club Reached A Division By Taking A Loan And Raising Donations!

Apr 11, Kathmandu- Last Sunday proved to be a historic day for Khumaltar Youth Club. Founded in 2004 AD, the club was promoted to the top division of Nepali football after 17 years. Khumaltar who was unlucky last year was lucky this time.

In the final match of the Martyrs' Memorial B Division League, Khumaltar was not only going to win, but also the Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT), which has a proud history, had to lose points. On the last day, Khumaltar defeated Social Youth Club 2-1 and RCT was tied. RCT lost points in a goalless draw with Tuscaloosa Youth Club.

For Khumaltar, it was a suicide goal to reach the A division. Sabin KC of Khumaltar took the lead against Social Youth by scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Suresh Khatri of Samajik scored the equalizer in the 57th minute. While the social and Khumaltar games were tied at the ANFA Complex till the last minute, RCT A, which was playing against Tusal at Dasharath Stadium, had advanced to the A Division.

But in the 90th minute, Bikas Limbu of Samajik scored a suicide goal. After that, Khumaltar's happiness knew no bounds. While clearing the ball, Vikas scored at his own post and Khumaltar reached the A division. Khumaltar was second in the points table with 22 points while RCT was third with 22 points. But as Khumaltar beat RCT 3-1 in the league.

Khumaltar finished second on a head-to-head basis. Adding 29 points, Church Boys became the champion. Khulmatar who got lucky this year was unlucky last season. This time the top two teams of the league reached the A division while last year one team had a chance to reach the top division.

Last year, Khumaltar finished second in the B division. After losing to Satdobato in the decisive match, Khulmatar was deprived of reaching the top division. "Last year, we were not helped by fate. I am very happy to have reached the A division after winning the last game this time, 'said club president Maniraj Bisht according to source.

According to him, Khumaltar was promoted to C Division three years after its establishment. The club, which has been in C division since 2007 AD, managed to reach B division in 2013 AD. Chairman Bista said that the journey of A division was not easy. Because the club had to face financial difficulties.

The club had made a budget of Rs 5.2 million for the B Division League this time. But the club's regular source of income was nothing and still is not. In which club members, officials and well-wishers provided support.

According to Chairman Bisht, the club was sponsored by a restaurant and ANFA will provide Rs. 1.5 million as preparation. The club will also get Rs 1 million. The remaining amount will be managed from the loan, said Chairman Bista. He did not disclose the loan amount.

"We are raising money for the club by raising donations. This time we are also in debt, 'said Bisht. He said that no agreement has been reached for the convenience of the players even after taking a loan.

"We did not make any agreement for the players' salary and facilities, which is why the players worked hard," he said. He shared his experience that efficient management has worked to reach A division.

Chairman Bisht said, 'Money alone is not a big deal. We focused on good management. So it seems to have succeeded. 'He believes that A division will be more financially comfortable than B division.

'It would be a little easier in A division than in B division. Because it is easier to find sponsors for A division than for B division. Some educational institutions and banks have come in contact with us, 'he said. We will move the club forward with the goal of staying in A division in the first year. '

Khumaltar Youth has its own building located in Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 15. Chairman Bisht informed that the building has facilities including hostel. The training of the club is being held at the intellectual development ground of Lagankhel.
