Nepal Medical Association To Establish Medical Museum

May 25, Kathmandu- The Nepal Medical Association is going to establish a medical museum by collecting various historical and old medical equipments used in the health service of Nepal.

Dr. Lochan Karki, chairman of the association, informed that the association is being set up as there are no museums in the medical field even though there are museums in other regions in Nepal.

"What was the first ECG, ultrasound, or CT scan machine in Nepal like? What were the historical pictures and books of the first surgeons in the medical field? Dr. Karki said, "There are some equipments in the hospital. For the new generation, such equipment will help to understand the history of Nepal's medical field".

According to him, the medical museum will be set up in the exhibition hall of the central office of the association. The association has requested for the provision of historical materials, certificates, books, equipment related to the health sector, and other materials available in hospitals, association institutions, and individual homes.
