May 30, Kathmandu: The newly elected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah (Balen) has taken an oath of office and secrecy.

Chief Election Officer Raju Kumar Khatiwada administered the oath of office to Mayor Sah at the National Assembly this morning. After Balen is sworn in, he will administer the oath to Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol.

According to Kathmandu Metropolitan City Information Officer Basanta Acharya, the swearing-in of the mayor, deputy mayor, ward chairperson and members will be held at the National Assembly. Acharya informed that Mayor Shah and Deputy Mayor Dangol are scheduled to take office today.
