Ravi Lamichhane Announces New Party

Jun 21, Kathmandu- Former media person Rabi Lamichhane declared a new party named National Independent Party (Rashtriya Swatantra Party) by holding a program at the National Assembly in Kathmandu on June 21. He said that there would be no cadres in his party but there would be members. He said that there should be a direct election of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister.

Lamichhane said his party would not ask for donations but would seek help from the general public. He said that his party would not give any government appointment to any of his relatives. He also said that those who show a model of development and good governance will be given tickets to the election.

Lamichhane said his party's proposed election symbol would be a bell. He said that if anyone from his party wins and does not work, he will be sent back. He said, "Now choose the one who knows, not the one who gives the speech".
