Jun 23, Kathmandu- American swimmer Anita Alvarez fainted on Wednesday while competing in the World Championships.

She was found unconscious in a swimming pool by her instructor. She said that she felt lucky to be alive.

Alvarez, a 25-year-old synchronized swimmer, drowned at the bottom of a pool in Budapest, Hungary, while competing in the final of the women's singles free event.

Her trainer, Andrea Fuentes, immediately jumped into the water and rescued her with the help of others. While this scene was being watched by lifeguards.

After being rescued from a swimming pool, Alvarez regained consciousness. She returned to normal after receiving immediate first aid.

This is the second time he has been in the pool.
