Jun 24, Kathmandu- Amrita Khatri Tandon of Janaki Nagar, Ward No. 2 of Tilotta in Rupandehi is being buried after two and a half months.

After Amrita's in-laws agreed to pay Rs 1.4 million for Amrita's son's education and create a fund for social work in her name, the parents agreed to bury her. Amrita's body had been at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal for 73 days after her suspicious death on April 13 last year.

Pushpa Khadka, brother of the deceased, said that the funeral would be held on Friday as the family agreed to fulfill the demands of the relatives. Saying that Amrita's death was suspicious, the relatives had staged a street agitation by filing a complaint against her husband Prem Tandon, her father Tahal Singh Tandon, and mother Deepa Tandon.

According to a complaint filed by Amrita's parents, the district court in Rupandehi had remanded Prem Tandon in custody for trial but released both the in-laws saying there was no evidence.
