Jun 25,  Kathmandu- Defender Ranjit Dhimal has been appointed as the captain of Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League Club New Road Team (NRT). NRT has appointed Ranjit as the captain for the pre-season tour of Malaysia and Thailand.

Under Ranjit's captaincy, NRT is playing a friendly match with Sankata Club at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor today. The game will start at 1:30 in the afternoon. Ranjit had played in the Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League for the last two seasons league champions Machhindra Football Club.

NRT will play in the Tuwan Yang Terut (TYT) Cup football tournament in Malaysia. In the TYT Cup, NRT will compete with Malaysia's Super League club Penang FC and Indonesia's League Two club Karo FC. Under the competition, NRT will compete with Karo FC on June 30 and Penang FC on July 2. The winner and runner-up will be decided on the basis of league points.

The winner of the competition to be held at Penang City Stadium will win 10,000 and the runner-up 5,000 Malaysian ringgit prize. Similarly, NRT has stated that they will play 3 friendly matches in Thailand.
