Former Australian Cricketer Brett Lee Appointed As Mentor In Nepal T20 League

Sep 9, Kathmandu: A former international cricket player for Australia Brett Lee is currently in Nepal. He was named a mentor of the Nepal T20 League teams, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced during a conference held in Kathmandu on Friday.

He stated during the occasion that “the interesting part from my standpoint is that I see the passion [for cricket] here in Nepal. I travel across the world to watch cricket. However, the intensity here has increased. Even though Lee is departing Kathmandu today, he will continue mentoring the teams virtually. Lee landed in Nepal on Thursday.

Nepal T20 League is set to start from Asoj 2. It’s the official T20 league of CAN. CAN has already signed an eight-year contract with Indian company Seven3 sports as a commercial and strategic partner for the Nepal T-20 league. In addition, Seven3Sports will give more than 4 crore rupees annually to CAN.

The official website of Seven3Sports is involved in sporting and other recreational activities. They reportedly have broadcasting rights to the FIFA U-14 World Cup in India, as well as digital rights to the Bundesliga and the US Open in India and other South Asian countries.

Brett Lee excelled as an exponent of extreme speed for over a decade without achieving the all-conquering success required to earn the tag of a true Test great. Fast and with a flashy smile that added to his star quality, he finished as Australia’s fourth-most successful bowler, with 310 wickets in 76 matches.

At his best Lee got outswing with the new ball and reverse with the older one, making him even more difficult for batters trying to steady themselves knowing he could reach 160kph.
