Dengue Confirmed In 1,504 More Across The Country

Sep 25, Kathmandu: The dengue outbreak seen throughout the country has started to take the form of an epidemic. In the last 24 hours, 1,504 people have been infected with dengue.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, dengue has been confirmed in 24 thousand 492 people till Sunday evening. As of Saturday, 22,988 people were infected with dengue. So far, 29 people have died due to dengue infection. This number is the highest in the last 18 years. Death due to dengue continues.

According to the ministry, 19,000 people have been infected with dengue so far in Bagmati province. Similarly, 2,872 people in Lumbini Province, 777 in Far West, 753 in Province 1, 537 in Gandaki, 323 in Madhesh, and 230 in Karnali have been infected with dengue. As dengue infection has spread in 76 districts across the country so far, it has been prepared to declare it an 'outbreak'.

Dengue infection was observed in one person for the first time in 2061 in Nepal. Since then, dengue infection was observed in 17 thousand 992 people in 2019, increasing annually. At that time, dengue had spread in 68 districts and 5 people died.
