Sept 30, Kathmandu- It has been found that there is an increase in counterfeit Nepali currency notes in Siraha during Dashain.

It has been found that fake notes of 1,000 and 500 rates are found daily in all the banks of Siraha. Siraha police has arrested a young man with fake notes on Thursday.

Police have arrested 39-year-old Jiwachha Kamati, resident of Kalyanpur municipality-11 market, with 5 fake notes of Rs 1,000 rate. After purchasing a mobile phone recharge in the market, the 1,000 rate note given by Kamati was fake and the shopkeeper asked for another note and reported the same to the police.

As soon as they got the news, the police from Mirchaiya arrested him with fake notes. Kamati has told the police that the money was withdrawn from a local cooperative. The police said that they are conducting necessary investigations in this regard. Kamati, who returned home from foreign employment a year ago, has been doing farming.
