Oct 13, Kathmandu- APF Club, a departmental team full of national players, has won the women's cricket tournament under the 9th National Games against the host Gandaki Province. APF, who got the second victory in the competition, has also strengthened the possibility of reaching the semi-finals.
APF defeated Gandaki Province by nine wickets in the match held on Thursday at Krimet Ground in Pokhara Stadium. APF achieved the modest victory target of 27 runs given by Gandaki with the loss of one wicket in 14 balls.
Captain Sita Ranamagar scored 12 runs unbeaten in APF's victory. Indu Sharma scored 9 runs unbeaten. Shrishti Jaisi took one wicket for Gandaki in the bowling. Gandaki, who batted first, scored 26 runs in 18.2 overs for the loss of all wickets.
No player could score runs in double figures for Gandaki. Gandaki's five runs scored by captain Shrishti Jaisi were the highest. In bowling for APF, Indu Sharma took two wickets and Suman Bista, Neri Thapa, Sita Ranamagar and Nisha Bhatta took one wicket each.
With the win, APF in Group 'A' is at the top with four points. After three games, Gandaki is at the bottom without any points. In the next match today, there will be a competition between Sudurpaschim Province and Madhesh Province. Nine teams are participating in women's cricket.
