Two Arrested With Fake Ballot Papers And Cash From Birgunj

Nov 18, Kathmandu- The armed police in Birganj have arrested two persons with fake ballot papers and some cash. Last night, a joint team of the District Police Office Parsa and the Armed Police Force arrested two people with fake ballot papers and cash from the road section at Bus Park in Birganj.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Parsa Deepak Giri, the driver of the car, 23-year-old Amiri Raut of Bara District Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-18 and the owner of the same car, Rajan Singh, 33-year-old resident of Birganj Metropolitan City-16 Inarwa, were arrested.

According to him, while checking the car number Ba 1024 Cha 6636 coming towards Kalaiya Birganj, fake ballot papers and 2 lakh 72 thousand rupees of cash were seized. He said that the two people were taken into custody along with the seized cash and fake ballot papers and the necessary investigation process was carried forward.

10,000 fake ballot papers, 250 Swastik stamps, and 48 stamp pads have been recovered from them. Around 300 copies of fake ballots were found to indicate the vote on a bicycle sign.

According to Parsa Police, an investigation is underway as to which constituencies they went with ballot papers. The arrested ones and the vehicle are currently kept at the ward police office. The police said that they will be handed over to the Chief Election Officer's office in Parsa for necessary action.
