Nov 24,Kathmandu: Gyan Bahadur Shahi (Gyanendra Shahi) has won by a wide margin in the Jumla Representative Assembly which is the only constituency.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer, it has been informed that Shahi of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) won by getting 22 thousand 819 votes. Shahi won by defeating Goma Gautam Kunwar, the candidate of the ruling coalition, by a margin of 10,860 votes.
Rival power coalition candidate of Shahi of CPN (Maoist) Goma Gautam Kunwar received 11 thousand 959 votes. In Jumla, the people gave Gyanendra the votes of the power coalition and also the votes of CPN-UML and made him win. After victory, Gyanendra Shahi said, "My vote was 590 votes, but the people of Jumli have loved me." Now I will lead the nation. Since Jumla could not lead for a long period of time, he has that purpose.
In Jumla, 45 thousand 284 votes were cast out of 68 thousand 638 votes. In which Shahi of RPP received 22 thousand 819 votes. However, when Shahi campaigned in Jumla, he did not mention the name of the RPP party and only promoted people and the halo symbol.
In the history of parliamentary elections in Jumla, Dilli Bahadur Mahat from Nepal Labor Kisan Party in 2048, Bhakta Bahadur Rokaya from Nemkipa in 2051, Devilal Thapa of CPN UML in 2056, Naresh Bhandari of CPN Maoist in 2064, Lalitjung Shahi of Nepali Congress in 2070, and CPN Maoist in 2074 Gajendra Bahadur Mahat won.
