Nov 24.Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Surya Thapa has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Pyuthan. According to the final vote results, Thapa won by getting 41 thousand 118 votes.

Durga Paudel of Jan Morcha, the common candidate of his nearest rival alliance, has got 35 thousand 844 votes. Thapa won by a margin of 5,274 votes. There are 9 local levels in Pyuthan, which is the only representative assembly member constituency. Out of 1 lakh 59 thousand 760 voters, 88 thousand 958 votes were cast.
