Nov 25,Kathmandu: Nepali Congress candidate Deepak Khadka has been elected to Sankhuwa Sabha for the House of Representatives. Khadka, who became a candidate on behalf of the Democratic Left Alliance, won by getting 32 thousand 158 votes.
His closest rival, CPN (UML) candidate Rajendra Gautam, has received 26,719 votes. Gautam was defeated by Khadka with a margin of 5,439 votes. This is the third competition between Gautam and Khadka. Khadka was elected in the 2013 election. Gautam was elected in 2017 AD. Elected Khadka Puru is also the Minister of State for Water Supply and Sanitation.
65 thousand 892 votes were cast in Sankhuwasabha with 1 lakh 17 thousand 554 voters. There were 12 candidates including 2 independents in the House of Representatives. Apart from Congress and CPN (UML), other candidates have received few votes.
