Acharya Wins As A Provincial Assembly Member In Morang 6 (A)

Nov  25, Kathamndu: Jeevan Acharya, the leader of the Maoist center who became a candidate on behalf of the ruling coalition in Morang's constituency  6 (B), won by securing 19,455 votes. Acharya was elected as the state member after defeating UML candidate Rita Neupane by 1,978 votes. Neupane got 17 thousand 577 votes.

In the year 2074, Acharya, who became a candidate of the Left Alliance from the same constituency, was defeated by Congress candidate Chumnarayan Tawdar at that time. Acharya is the daughter and son-in-law of Maoist leader Prachanda.

There are 6 constituencies in the House of Representatives and 12 constituencies in the Provincial Assembly in Morang. Out of which, Congress nominated 7 candidates, Maoist Center 3 candidates and CPN Unified Socialist 2 candidates. So far, 5 people from Congress and one from the Maoist center have won. 4 UML candidates have won. The results of two constituencies are yet to come.
