Nov 26,Kathmandu: Nepali Congress candidate Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma has won by a margin of 22,736 votes in Morang 3.

 Sharma defeated UML politburo member and former minister Bhanubhakt Dhakal by almost twice the majority and was elected as a member of the House of Representatives(HoR) for the first time. While Dr. Sharma won by getting 48 thousand 631 votes, his nearest rival UML leader Bhanubhakt Dhakal got 25 thousand 895 votes.

Sharma who was defeated by Dhakal in 2017 AD by 1,907 votes, won almost twice as many votes than Dhakal after 5 years. Out of 91 thousand 606 votes cast in the last election, Dhakal got 42 thousand 413 votes while Congress candidate Sharma got 40 thousand 506 votes. In Morang 3, 31 candidates were in the election contest. Popular film actress Rekha Thapa became a candidate from RPP for the first time and got 10 thousand 998 votes.

Similarly, Omnarayan Rajwatar Dhami of Nemkipa got 30 votes, Bhuvan Rai of Democratic Samajwadi Party got 18 votes, Khagendra Prasad Neupane of Our Nepali Party got 303 votes, Uddhim Bahadur Khadka of CPN (Malay) got 231 votes, Vikendra Rai of Mongolian National Organization got 1,505 votes, Chandrikadevi Limbu of Federal Democratic National Forum got 231 votes. Received 431 votes.

Similarly, Narayan Sharma of Nationalist People's Party got 21 votes, Kamal Limbu of Jan Samajwadi Party Nepal got 33 votes, Bikas Upreti of Rashtriya Swatantra Party got 3 thousand 79 votes. For independent candidates, Dinesh Chapagain got 37 votes, Jayaraj coordinator got 382 votes, Krishna Rai got 110 votes, Pankaj Kumar Bhagat got 2 votes, Ganesh Bahadur Pokharel got 70 votes, Indira Thapa got 60 votes. Similarly, Kamal Rajvanshi got 7, Prakash Bhattarai got 1, Shiv Kumar Paudel got 24, Arvin Shah got 9, Indra Prasad Subedi got 61, Chandrakala Khatri got 1, Subas Dhimal got 30, Himprasad Mishra got 8, Baburam Subedi got 6, Revat Kumar Basnet got 7, Suresh Bhandari got 10, Dharma Prasad Neupane got 4 and Jeevnath Niraula got 3 votes. In Morang 3 there were 149 thousand 833 voters and 97 thousand 377 votes were cast.
