He won by getting 25 thousand 420 votes. His nearest rival Surendra Kumar Yadav of Jaspa got 21 thousand 296 votes.
Similarly, Manoj Kumar Shah of the Janmat Party has got 1 thousand 39 votes. With Rai's victory in Mahottari 4, Congress has won 51 seats in the House of Representatives.
