Dec 09, Kathmandu- The electricity transformer installed in Rautahat has been stolen. It is said that three transformers were stolen in the district within the last month.

An electricity transformer installed for irrigation purposes on the side of the tarred road from Bijaypur to Santapur(Dostiya) under Fatuwa Bijaypur Municipality area was stolen on Thursday night. Chandra Kishore Yadav, a local, said that a transformer of 100 amperes was stolen.

The deep tubewell running from the underground irrigation project has been shut down after the electricity transformer was stolen. Dozens of farmers in Fatuwa are in trouble when irrigation from deep tube wells is stopped during wheat cultivation.
