Dec 23, Kathmandu- The use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) is also increasing in Nepal. Along with the increase in the number of people using electronic cigarettes and vaporizing devices (Vape), their import is also increasing.

According to the statistics recently released by the Customs Department, electronic cigarettes and vapes worth more than seven million rupees were imported in the first five months of the financial year 2079/80. According to statistics, during this period, 14 lakh 52 thousand 318 electronic cigarettes worth 7 crore 47 lakh two thousand rupees have been imported.

The largest number of electronic cigarettes are imported from China. According to statistics, in the last five months, 14 lakh 16 thousand 957 electronic cigarettes worth 7 crore 24 lakh 18 thousand rupees have been imported from China.

Similarly, America is in second place. During that period, 25 thousand 919 electronic cigarettes worth 15 lakh five thousand rupees have been imported from America. Similarly, 6,06 electronic cigarettes worth 241,000 rupees have been imported from UAE to Nepal.
