Dec 28, Kathmandu: The session of the Gandaki State Assembly has been called for January 2. Prithviman Gurung, the state chief of Gandaki province, called the session of the state assembly on January 2.
"According to clause (1) of Article 183 of the Constitution of Nepal, the session of the Provincial Assembly is requested to start from 3 o'clock on Monday, 18th of January at the Provincial Assembly Building, Nadipur," said the statement issued by the Secretariat of Provincial Chief Gurung on Tuesday.
Preparations are underway to administer the oath to newly elected MPs before the session. Provincial Chief Gurung has prepared to administer the oath to Mitralal Basyal elected from Parbat District Constituency No. 1 (1), the senior member of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly on Wednesday, December 28.
According to the secretariat of the provincial head, all those who became members of the provincial assembly through the direct and proportional system will be administered the oath. In the 60-member Gandaki Provincial Assembly, there are 27 MPs from the Nepali Congress, 22 from the CPN-UML, eight from the CPN-Maoist Center, two from the RPP, and one from the CPN United Socialist Party.
